Postgraduate Scholarships

You can apply for a range of scholarships and awards when you enrol as a postgraduate student in Te Aka Mātuatua - School of Science. The strength of our research activities attracts considerable investment from both national funding agencies and local organisations. As a result, most of our postgraduate students are supported financially through one or more scholarships.

The School of Graduate Research administers all merit-based scholarships, including the prestigious University of Waikato Doctoral Scholarships. These scholarships have specific application deadlines each year.

Scholarships that are associated with specific research contracts, are advertised at the bottom of this page. Ensure that you follow us on Twitter to be the first to hear about new funded scholarship opportunities as they become available.
