Bachelor of Science

Bachelor of Science (Technology)
The Bachelor of Science (Technology) (BSc(Tech)) was the first degree of its kind in New Zealand and offers a unique approach to study. The BSc(Tech) is a flexible, job-oriented degree, which provides you with the necessary practical experience to bridge the gap between study and the workplace.
Bachelor of Engineering with Honours
The Waikato Bachelor of Engineering with Honours (BE(Hons)) is the degree for inventors and big thinkers who move instinctively from having an idea to making it happen. It is designed as the basis for a professional career in engineering and there is plenty of opportunity for practical application of skills in real work situations.

Master of Science
The MSc is an internationally-recognised qualification, valued for it's flexibility and general excellence in education and training.
Master of Science (Technology)
A MSc(Tech) is normally a two year coherent, advanced programme of study building on the specialisation of the BSc(Tech) degree, which combines taught papers with an applied or industrial based research thesis or dissertation. The programme includes two papers on industrial technology and innovation.
Master of Engineering
This research-focused degree is designed for graduates who wish to further their knowledge of the innovative research methodologies required in industry, and for professional engineers who wish to upskill in new areas related to their work. Excellence in advanced engineering design, research and development skills are core features of the degree.
Master of Philosophy
The MPhil degree is solely a research degree, designed to recognise an original contribution to knowledge that is normally presented as a thesis. It is intended to be the product of one year of full-time research.
Doctor of Philosophy
This is the premier research degree and is a critical part of the career of any professional scientist. The degree normally takes 3 years of full-time study. It is the highest degree awarded by the University for research that is carried out under the supervision of staff members.
