Café Scientifique - a place where anyone can come to explore the latest ideas in science and technology in a relaxed setting.
Previous Cafés have discussed kiwifruit industry biosecurity risks; electrical behaviour of the brain during sleep; and the search for new planets. In 2014 we were host to Dame Anne Salmond, part of the Rutherford Lecture Series and Prof Marlene Zuk, part of the Allan Wilson Centre Lecture Tour. This year we will host several international speakers.
Café Scientifique is organised by Julia and Warren Banks, Saffron Consulting Ltd, with support from the University of Waikato. Presentations start at 7:00pm at the Tauranga Yacht and Power Boat Club. There is a $5 entry charge with tea, coffee and light refreshments available from 6:30pm.
